The honest answers to what people ask before they start.

Almost always because of one repeatable thing, and almost never because of your grammar. The most common cap is Task Response: you answer one half of a two-part question, so the criterion is held at 6.0 no matter how good the rest of the essay is. The official test gives you a number and no explanation, which is why people plateau for months. Aptaneo scores each of the four criteria separately and quotes the sentence that cost you the band.
Courses hand you a library and say study. That's useful once you know what to fix, and useless before. Aptaneo starts from what you actually wrote or said, names the one thing capping your score in official band-descriptor terms, and only then points you at the lesson that addresses it. Same content model, opposite order.
Against the four public band descriptors — Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy — each scored on its own, each with the specific sentence that justifies it. You get the criterion score, the quote, and the single change that moves it. No overall number without the reasoning behind it.
General Training first, because that is what Canadian immigration requires and it is where the demand is. The practical difference is Task 1: General Training asks for a letter, Academic asks you to describe a chart. The other three skills are close enough that most of the material serves both, and the writing scorer reads Academic Task 2 essays fine. Academic-specific Task 1 lessons and prompts come later.
Upload a recent score report, or write one timed task. You get your four criterion scores, the CLB level each maps to, and the specific thing capping your lowest skill. No card, no account needed to see the result.
Both, always together. A band on its own doesn't tell you whether you qualify — CLB does, and CRS points follow from CLB. Every score in the product carries its CLB level and what it's worth to your profile.
You run Parts 1 to 3 with a voice examiner that asks follow-ups the way a real one does. The transcript and the audio are then scored on the four speaking criteria — fluency, lexical resource, grammar, pronunciation — with the same quoted justification as writing.
Your plan gives you three things a day, sized to the time you have and the date of your test. A lesson is six to ten minutes; a full timed task is forty. If you have twenty minutes, the plan gives you twenty minutes of the work that matters most.
No, and be careful with anyone who says otherwise. We won't predict or promise a band. What we will do is tell you exactly which criterion is costing you, show you whether it's improving, and be honest when it isn't.
Yes. Aptaneo runs in any browser — phone, tablet, or laptop — with nothing to install, and you pick up wherever you left off. One honest caveat: timed writing tasks are much easier on a physical keyboard, and the computer-delivered exam is typed too, so practise those on a laptop if you have one. Everything else — lessons, drills, speaking practice and your daily plan — works fine on a phone.
